Foundations for Early Childhood Self-Determination Project

The Foundations for Early Childhood Self-Determination Project is a grant from the U.S. Department of Education Institute for Education Sciences. The purpose is to help families and early childhood teachers work together to help young children develop skills such as choice-making, self-regulation, or engagement. 40th Anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

On November 17, 2015, there was a special White House event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the passage of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) with H. Rutherford Turnbull as a featured speaker. This event included a host of officials from government, the education community, advocates and others to celebrate and reaffirm support for IDEA and to honor the many significant contributions that parents, teachers, service providers, administrators and so many others have made under the IDEA umbrella.
