What It Is
Positive behavior support (PBS), as a package of evidence-based strategies, has established effective behavior support systems for all students at a school. In this section, a brief sketch of positive behavior support (PBS) is presented. Effective implementation of PBS starts with clear understanding of PBS components. The three sub-categories of this section will help you understand general concepts and framework about PBS. This information is an attempt to encourage educators, families/caregivers and providers to use proactive and positive strategies rather than focusing on punitive consequences to reduce challenging behavior. PBS examples and procedures are also described in other PBS sections.
