Assessing Dietary and Behavioral Predictors of Weight Gain and Obesity using Computerized Adaptive Testing: Development of the E-Health Collaborative Consortium

Assessing Dietary and Behavioral Predictors of Weight Gain and Obesity using Computerized Adaptive Testing: Development of the E-Health Collaborative Consortium

Accurate assessment of unhealthy eating and lifestyle patterns prior to development of obesity could serve as a valuable tool in providing healthcare professionals with opportunities for early interventions to potentially prevent later health problems. There is a critical need for brief, accurate, and economical strategies that can be used in routine clinical practice to assess behaviors predictive of weight gain and obesity development. This project will develop and validate a computerized adaptive mobile phone application to identify and assess behavioral predictors of weight gain.
