Natural Ties: Everyone Is Dancing, $25
Lawrence, KS: Beach Center on Disability, 1998, 20 minutes.

Natural Ties is a program that originated at the University of Kansas to foster friendships for young adults with disabilities. Through Natural Ties, university students without disabilities are matched with young adults with disabilities for social outings and other get-togethers. However, as the reflections of those who participated reveal, Natural Ties offers much more than a volunteer opportunity: the relationships take on the natural alchemy of developing friendships, connecting one person with another with life-long implications.  The program would be especially useful for organizations implementing similar programs.

Goin' Mobile: Portraits of Young Adults with Disabilities in Transition, $25
Lawrence, KS: Kansas Transition Systems Change Project, 1995, 40 minutes.

Five young people with disabilities successfully make the transition from school to adult life. Issues related to both developmental and physical disabilities are discussed and the questions would be appropriate for any transition situation.

Samantha: A Story About Positive Behavioral Support, $25
Experimental Education Unit, Center on Human Development and Disability, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, 1995, 29 minutes.

The program illustrates the use of positive behavior support procedures, including functional assessment of problem behaviors, support plan development, and plan implementation. Interviews are included with family members, peers, educators, and others that highlight issues involved in this process. It is highly recommended for family members and professionals involved in supporting individuals who engage in problem behaviors.
