Bio: Before coming to the University of Kansas to pursue my doctoral degree in Special Education, I worked five years at a public special education school in Korea as a homeroom teacher and a vocational teacher for students with autism, emotional/behavioral disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. Through my practical experiences of teaching junior high and high school students, I realized the importance of self-determination and transition for my students. This has led me to come to America to study with Dr. Wehmeyer at KU. My area of interest for my doctoral studies is low incidence disabilities in secondary education, focusing on self-determination and transition.
